HubSpot Salesmsg Dialer: Call outcomes, call types, + more

As an organization using HubSpot's Salesmsg dialer, we would greatly benefit from having the same in-call activity management features that are available in HubSpot's native dialer. Specifically, we are requesting the Salesmsg dialer experience within HubSpot updated to mirror the HubSpot native dialer’s interface — allowing reps to manage the call record dynamically during the call. This includes:
- Adding call notes
- Selecting the call outcome (e.g., connected, voicemail, no answer)
- Selecting the call type (e.g., sales, support, follow-up)
- Creating follow-up tasks or reminders and more.
Impact:
Implementing this feature would significantly improve efficiency and user experience for sales teams of all organizations, ensuring timely and accurate data entry without interrupting call workflows.

Current Challenge:
Currently, the Salesmsg dialer in HubSpot automatically logs activity only after the call is completed. This workflow is inefficient for our sales team, especially when handling high volumes of calls. Waiting for the activity record to publish before being able to add essential follow-up information like the call type, notes or create a task slows down productivity and increases the chance of missed or incomplete data entry.

HubSpot: Take notes on salesmsg native integration call screen

Need to be able to take notes within the call screen in HubSpot while on a call with a client instead of updating the call after we hang up and potentially forgetting important notes. Most integrations offer this feature. Being able to also update the call outcome within the call screen would be ideal as well.

Chris Brisson this is excellent news Chris! Do you have a timeline on when it can be expected?

Chris Brisson Same question from me. We are a team that just started using it and this is the only downside for us preventing from moving the rest of the BDR team over.

Hey Major Magpie, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific features from the HubSpot native dialer are most critical for your team’s workflow?
- How frequently does your team use the SalesMSG dialer within HubSpot, and what volume of calls do you handle daily?
- Are there any additional integrations or tools that would enhance the SalesMSG dialer experience for your team?

Chris Brisson thank you for the questions! 1. The call type as well as being able to add notes directly regarding the call that will be saved with the activity record go hand in hand and are very crucial. The notes ensure efficiency and the call types allow for reporting. Being able to do both within the call and calls conclusion instantly keeps our reps quickly moving onto the next contact to call.
- Currently we’ve had to pull out of the salesmsg dialer due to the inefficiency of not being able to select the call type and add notes on the fly that will be on the call activity record. We have to use the hubspot dialer so we can move quickly. Our team at full capacity will be doing nearly 100 calls per day per individual.
- The ability to use the SalesMSG dialer on the hubspot mobile app would be great especially if the call types, notes, and more can be included!
